Volunteers share the vision that
Everyone Deserves A Decent Place To Live
Every year, Habitat for Humanity Sarasota relies on more than 800 volunteers to support our mission. Volunteers help keep the homes affordable for qualified homebuyers. It is our goal to help you find the volunteer assignment that best suits your skills, interests, and schedule.
Our construction sites are open 7:30 am – 12:00 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Typical projects include demolition, foundation prep, framing, roofing, interior/exterior painting, and landscaping – depending on the type of home and what phase of the project your group is scheduled.
We welcome volunteers of all skill levels; no experience is required. Volunteers must be 16 years old or older. Please be advised: We will do our best to accommodate your request; however, due to the nature of our organization schedules can be affected by many factors, including weather, the number of volunteers on previous workdays, or the availability of group projects. When volunteering at a job site, please wear shoes that are in good condition, are close-toed and have good traction. Steel or composite toe boots are preferable. (Sandals, flip-flops and bare feet are prohibited. Soft-soled shoes should be worn only where appropriate).
